This new 3,000-square-foot residence is located on a steep downslope lot in the Berkeley Hills. Three vertical masses anchor the building to the ground while horizontal zones of living, outdoor deck and trellis each emerge from the hillside and project out towards the view.
The interior is comprised of warm, honey-colored Douglas Fir floors in contrast to white walls and a natural cement plaster fireplace. Ash cabinets provide built-in storage within each living space, while the top level is reserved as a roof terrace for generous outdoor living.
