This savings and loan bank is located in a suburban shopping area. It is composed of two long masses which anchor the building to the ground and frame a more articulated central volume which houses a series of north-facing clerestories. Meanwhile, the ends of the central volume cantilever out to become entry canopies. Inside, the central volume houses the teller line, the most active area of the bank, and the solid volume in front houses the accounts desks and a customer lounge. The vault and ‘back of house’ facilities are located at the rear. Long horizontal windows gesture to the speed of fast moving traffic along Woodside Road, while the clerestory windows bring light to the interior of the bank and allow the passerby a clear view inside.
